Organisational background

The unit at Stepping Hill Hospital provides a comprehensive urology service, including major pelvic cancer, endourology, laparoscopy and female urology. There is also an active research programme including evaluation of HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound), for the treatment of primary prostrate cancer and radiation failure disease.

In additional the unit performs radical cystectomies and open radical prostatectomies. A similar network, Stockport-Tameside has run successfully for over 10 years giving experience in patient management across sites.
