Organisational background

The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust is within the area of the Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority. A busy inner city university hospital it had 64,000 admissions in 2005-2006. RLBUHT is based over two sites; royal site which is acute and has 900 beds and Broadgreen site which is non-acute and has 300 beds.

It provides general hospital services for most of the people of Liverpool and specialised services for people across the Cheshire and Merseyside region and beyond. RLBUHT is proud of its reputation as a centre of excellence and has a wide range of partnerships with other organisations including Central Liverpool PCT and South Liverpool PCT to provide effective healthcare for its local population.
