Organisational background

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the largest teaching hospital in London. Employing approximately 9,000 staff, it delivers in-patient and out-patient services for a wide range of specialities from both sites acting as a local hospital to a deprived diverse community and a tertiary referral centre for the South East of England.

The impact of WTD 2009 together with the introduction of Modernising Medical Careers and the 18 week wait has presented the Trust with the opportunity to significantly reorganise the way it delivers its services and is responding to the challenge positively.
