The DH has published The competence and curriculum framework for the physician assistant, which is the main reference document for the establishment of professional standards and quality assurance of trainee physician assistants throughout England.

The DH has also published Matrix specification of core clinical conditions for the physician assistant by category of level of competence, which is a working document to be read in conjunction with the main reference document. (DH - publications)
