Maximising Training within a 48 hour working week

'The Maximising Training within a 48 hour working week' EWTD and training conference was hosted in September by the Department of Health's EWTD and Modernising Medical Careers teams.
David Sowden, the senior responsible owner for the government's Modernising Medical Careers programme, Andrew Thornley, chair of the British Medical Association's junior doctors’ committee and Dr Charles Swainson, medical director at NHS Lothian and chair of PMETB's education and training subgroup were among the presenters who discussed the target of implementing the 48 hour working week Working Time Directive (WTD) by August 2009.
