200 medical rotas can now derogate from the European Working Time Directive (EWTD)

200 medical rotas can now derogate from the European Working Time Directive (EWTD) following the introduction of a statutory instrument announced by the UK Parliament on 25th June.

These rotas have two years (three in exceptional circumstances) to operate at an average 52 hour week.

The healthcare workforce portal has a host of practical help and solutions to support trusts covered by derogation.
