Yorkshire and Humber SHA WTD event

NHS Yorkshire and the Humber in partnership with Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team held a one day interactive session at Woolley Hall, Wakefield on Thursday 22nd November 2007.

The session was aimed at clinicians and managers involved in planning and implementing the Working Time Directive for doctors in Training 2009.

The event was designed to enable participants to:

  • Focus on the impact and implications of WTD
  • Relate WTD to what it will mean for patients, teams and their organisations
  • Begin to reflect on the evidence and existing examples of 'good practice'
  • Spend some time away from normal work to discuss and plan local actions.

The event was chaired by Adam Wardle, deputy director of Workforce and Education, NHS Yorkshire and the Humber. Speakers included Dr Ann McEvoy, Professor William Burr, Professor Sarah Thomas and representation from Scarborough and Airedale national WTD pilots, Leeds and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
