Countess of Chester Bleep Policy

What is this resource?
This is a revised policy used by the Countess of Chester Foundation Trust’s Hospital at Night team aiming to reduce hours and intensity of junior doctors work schedule in line with WTD 2009 compliance.

What is in this resource?
The policy contains guidelines of when bleeps should and should not be used and how they should be responded to. The policy also contains a ‘filtering flow chart’ used to ensure that patients are seen by the most appropriate person.

Who is this useful for?
This policy is distributed to every member of staff involved in night shifts. As a good practice example it is particularly useful for junior doctors and clinical site co-ordinators – as well as any staff working in night shift teams.

Who can I contact about this resource?
The WTD team wtd@skillsforhealth.org.uk.
