Hospital at Night Activity Database and Analysis packs

What is this resource?
This package is designed to support the introduction of Hospital at Night through local evidence base. This database tool allows you to enter that information into a database that will then be available to you to analyse using the analysis pack.

The package, developed in conjunction with York Health Economic Consortium Limited, consists of an Access database (Versions 97 and 2000) for entering the information obtained through your audit of activity and Excel Analysis package (version 2000), which will allow you to investigate your activity.

Who is this useful for?
This is useful for all Trusts, especially those implementing Hospital at Night for the first time, and those who wish to reaudit since implementing.

How will this help me and my organisation?
This datapack will help Trusts analysis their Hospital at Night data to understand who is doing what, and assist them in making the case for change.

How do I use this resource?
Trusts implementing Hospital at Night will need to baseline their activity audit, they may wish to reassess this on a regular basis. There is a user guide for those, and Trusts may need input from a local information analyst to support the extraction of the data, using the instructions provided.

What are the benefits to using this resource?

The benefits are that the data once collected locally can be analysed internally, thus saving Trusts money in getting data analysed. It also allows Trusts to decide how often they wish to use the data.

The datapack is that which was commissioned by the Modernisation Agency for the pilot Trusts and used to analyse data for Trusts in early implementing of Hospital at Night data analysis.
