Launch of DRS RulebookDoctors Rostering System (DRS) supports trusts with managing their junior doctors within the Working Time Directive and the New Deal requirements and is being used in about 180 Trusts and other organisations around the country. A new web based version of DRS - version 3 - is currently being rolled out to Trusts on a region by region basis. Download a copy of the DRS Rulebook >>> Click here to view the DRS Version 3 roll out Calling Time article >>> Click here to view the DRS for the RCS Calling Time article >>> To accompany this rollout, Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team has developed a DRS Rulebook which will support users by defining the analysis and calculations that occur in DRS and linking them with the New Deal/EWTD rules and regulations. For each element of DRS, this Rulebook presents the New Deal or EWTD rule and then describes how DRS follows this rule. This will give Trusts more comprehensive information on their New Deal and EWTD compliance and support Trusts in developing sustainable EWTD 2009 rotas. It also brings together the sources of New Deal and EWTD rules into a useful resource for Medical Staffing and EWTD leads in Trusts. It has been produced in conjunction with a Rules Advisory Group (RAG) consisting of DRS users and national New Deal and EWTD experts. The DRS RAG meet on a quarterly basis to discuss any development in legislation or practice which may affect the Rulebook.
