Home Working Time Directive 2009 Calling Time Calling Time - Issue 8 WTD Stakeholder Group - 40 hour week

WTD tips

WTD Stakeholder Group - 40 hour week?

A rota that is typically compliant with the 48 hour target (unless it is a specialty requiring no out of hours work) will often be set to be approximately 46 to 47 hours per week to allow for some leeway and is likely to be in a 1a, 1b or 1c banding category.

It is advised that if trusts are looking to reduce hours further to 40 hours, setting the pay at a basic salary and taking out the out of hours component, they consider carefully the service and training needs of the posts before doing so.
