Team working results
NHS organisations were recently invited to bid for the 2nd pilot work stream,team working, handover and escalation pilots and Skills for Health - Workforce Project Team’s requirements for:
- The development of different models of team working, handover and escalationpilots to support healthcare organisations across the NHS in meeting the 2009 requirements of the WTD
- Pilots delivering a range of co-ordinated services which encompass primary, secondary and tertiary care with the focus on the delivery of a patient-centred service
- Pilots building on previous projects which have used non-traditional teammanagement hierarchies in a multi-professional setting and explore the particular issues of cross-boundary multidisciplinary team working and the impact of this onthe deliverability of WTD
- Identification of ways to work differently to extend the scope of work carried out bystaff other than doctors to reduce the intensity of the doctors’ workload
An overwhelming number of responses were received from organisations across the country and short listed proposals were considered by an evaluation panel at the end of May in London. The Workforce Projects Team are pleased to announce that nine bids were given the go ahead, which are listed below.
