A very warm welcome to a Hospital at Night special 12th edition of Calling Time; hot on the heels of the highly successful Making Hospital at Night Mainstream and Beyond conference at the QEII Conference Centre in London in September, which saw 250 NHS and international healthcare colleagues sharing experiences and best practice.
We were very pleased to have Professor Elisabeth Paice, one of the ‘pioneers’ of Hospital at Night, with us to chair the event on 19th September.
We are proud to be a part of such a successful workforce initiative and even more so to announce that the Hospital at Night concept has been nominated for a HSJ award in the patient safety category. The success of the Hospital at Night method of working has piqued the interest of health services across the world, including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, represented at the conference by speakers
Dr Claire Wilkin and Juliet Pellegrini.
In this Calling Time we also highlight ‘The Case for Hospital at Night - The Search for Evidence’,
a report produced by Skills for Health -
Workforce Projects Team in partnership with The NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care. The full report can be downloaded at www.healthcareworkforce.nhs.uk/caseforhospitalatnight.
