Welcome to the 10th edition of Calling Time.

With the NHS Operating Framework firmly establishing WTD as a priority and £100 million given to PCTs to help organisations meet WTD 2009, now is the time for organisations to put WTD firmly on the agenda.

With just over a year to go, there is still time for organisations to develop and implement plans. This month saw the annual Working Time Directive event take place at the ExCeL, London. If you didn’t make the day, visit www.healthcareworkforce.nhs.uk/wtdexhibition2008 to access presentations and resources which will help you to formulate plans, look at best practice examples and move towards the 2009 requirement.

Register today for your place at the annual Hospital at Night conference which takes place on the 19th September 2008 at the QEII, London. Making Hospital at Night Mainstream and Beyond will be a large, national conference which will host over 300 delegates comprising of executives and non executives, senior clinicians, medical, nursing and allied health professionals as well as governance leads and senior managers. The conference will promote the benefits of Hospital at Night, showcase best practice and emerging models, celebrate the achievements and learning over the last five years, show how the model is translated nationally and show how to apply the real time learning to out of hours and 24:7.
