Editorial - Summer 2006

Welcome to the third edition of Calling Time 2009. Since the last issue things have been moving quite rapidly, with lots of new developments.

Since March we have hosted the Towards Working Time Directive 2009 – Transforming Care Delivery Conferencewhich was a great success, don’t miss the centre pages for the full report.

As usual we’ve managed to pack lots into this issue including the announcement of the ‘team working’ pilots; an update on how a number of the co-operative solutions pilots are getting on, along witha variety of other news we hope will be of interest and use to you. Top of the agenda – our front page news story contains the current compliance stats.

It articulates the challenge that a number of specialties face, leading up to 2009. However, we’re working hard to support you with resources that will help meet the challenge. We will keep you up to date on activities through Calling Time, in updates through other networks you use and on the healthcare workforce portal – where all our resources are gathered for your use.
