DRS Version 3 FAQWhat does DRS do? DRS Version 3 uses complex mathematical formulas to calculate duty and weekly hours and based on the implementation of rest, prospective cover and leave it produces the correct banding for the junior doctors working around the study. The percentage of monitoring carried out on the study is influential to the outcome of the analysis. To ensure a higher percentage of returns within a study DRS Version 3 introduces a new feature called WENDY. This enables junior doctors to enter their diary card online which ensures instant update, faster and more accurate analysis of the monitoring study. How will the software be made available across organisations? As the software is a web based application there are no installations that need to take place at the trust. The users will need to contact Tools helpdesk on 0161 266 2261 or email to tools.team@skillsforhealth.org.uk in order to acquire a username and password to access the software. Once these have been produced the trust can log on to the website and access the software online. When will the system become available? The system has completed the pilot stage and is now on its rollout stage. The rollout to trusts is taking place on a region by region basis. What do I need to have to be able to use the software in my trust? Before using the software in your trust it is highly recommended that you enquire about the following with your IT Department:
Will there be training for DRS Version 3? As part of the rollout which is taking place on a region by region basis we are carrying out a number of training sessions as we move from one region to another. For further details on when we will be rolling out DRS Version 3 in your region please contact Tools helpdesk on 0161 266 2261 or email with your query to tools.team@skillsforhealth.org.uk.
