Teamworking, Handover and Escalation
New ways of working in teams to provide patient care are seen as an essential part of the work that will be needed to achieve compliance with the 2009 directive for many organisations.
These ten pilots look at new ways of team working that reduce the hours required by junior doctors. They also look at how to ensure that systems around handover between teams and the need to escalate in a critical situation can take place effectively.
Regular progress reports on the pilots will be included in future issues of the Calling Time newsletter. Lessons from the pilots will be widely disseminated on an ongoing basis as the work progresses.
