What is the main idea behind this project?
To develop a maternity database which can be used to inform workforce planning initiatives assess organisation's performance and provide organisations with the facility of benchmarking themselves in relation to the maternity matters policy to ensure they are compliant with new regulations.

Who is this project aimed at helping?
This project aims to provide a benchmarking tool for workforce planners involved in maternity services. It may also be useful to SHA planners, service leads and commissioners.
How and when are the results of the project being published?
The database was commissioned by NHS Yorkshire and the Humber. All updates to the database are published on this portal.
What is the latest news on the project?
The database was last updated in June 2008. Special thanks to NHS Yorkshire and the Humber and Keith Hurst at Leeds University for their hard work developing the database and making this resource available to us.
