This booklet attempts to break down this definition and help you understand how to identify:

• Who the right people are
• What the right skills and competences should be
• Where they should be
• When they should be there.

This booklet has been developed to help those new to workforce planning understand what workforce planning is; what factors need to be taken into consideration when developing a workforce plan, what tools and resources are available and - more importantly - why they might help.
