Case for Hospital at Night - The Search for Evidence
In September 2008, Skills For Health - Workforce Projects Team (WPT) worked in partnership with the NHS Information Centre to analyse evidence around patient outcome data. This was the first of two documents produced to assess the impact and trends of the Hospital at Night (HaN) implementation across 22 single sited NHS trusts (a refresh of the evidence was produced in 2010 and can be accessed here).
The document was produced by comparing pre and post implementation indicators drawn from datasets of NHS trusts who have implemented HaN, supplied and validated by the NHS Information Centre. It analysed datasets across four key areas namely: patient outcomes, transfers of care, workforce productivity and workforce efficiency.
'The Case for Hospital at Night: The Search for Evidence' is a report resulting from the partnership and is validated by The NHS Information Centre.
