WASP

The Workforce Analysis and Strategic Planning Tool (WASP) allows an organisation to look at their current non medical workforce and ascertain the potential retirements/leavers over a five year period, plan/plot where they would like to be at the end of that period and allow them to think about their recruitment campaigns over that period of time. WASP relies on a very small amount of data to be inputted, ie staff identification (national insurance number/ESR unique identifier etc), date of birth, occupation code, grade code and WTE.

Initially developed approximately four years ago for the assistant practitioner project, WASP can be used to look at the organisation as a whole or a distinct area or service as required.
