Train the Trainer pack officially launched

Healthcare organisations can now train their staff to be the workforce planners of the future following the launch of the highly anticipated Train the Trainer programme.

Workforce planning is again being taken to the next level with the launch of the highly anticipated Train the Trainer programme.

Train the Trainer has been developed by Skills for Health – Workforce Projects Team to give workforce planners or trainers in healthcare organisations the tools to deliver workforce planning training locally.

The specially developed resource pack will support healthcare organisations in their local workforce planning processes by bringing together a host of key resources to increase awareness and engagement in workforce planning across the NHS.

The pack includes a section on practical workshop resources including presentation slides, worksheets drawing on the Six Steps Methodology to Integrated Workforce Planning, plus an evaluation form. The second section of the pack concentrates on workshop delivery and supporting information, including presentation guidance notes, icebreakers and workforce planning scenarios.

The third part of the pack focuses on workforce planning supporting information, including information on key policy drivers and an outline of teaching methods. Section four includes a selection of additional resources produced by Workforce Projects Team. All of these resources, together with other useful information is included on the special Train the Trainer CD found on the inside cover of the pack.

The pack has been distributed to over 400 healthcare organisations across England and will be periodically upgraded with new learning and resources.
