Graduates celebrate qualification successStudents from the second cohort of the Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Workforce Planning enjoyed a graduation ceremony with a difference as they completed their 'passing out' at the world famous Wembley Stadium. Following in the footsteps of millions of sports fans, they collected their honour for months of hard work at the hallowed venue, however they didn't have to climb the famous steps to lift their graduation scrolls. Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Workforce Planning >>>Capability and Capacity section >>>The course, which is run by Skills for Health – Workforce Projects Team in conjunction with Thames Valley University (TVU), provides workforce planners with the skills to adapt to their constantly changing role and was developed in recognition of the need for a high level programme for workforce planners. The course ran for the first time in 2006, was opened up to social care in 2007, with over 80 students having successfully completed it so far. There are currently around 100 students on the national programme and interest continues to grow following the close of the intake for the latest cohort in November. Successful applicants to the course have been informed, and are now looking forward to beginning work in February 2009. And the graduates are....
Georgina Lessing-Turner, senior manager: facilitation at Workforce Projects Team, said: “The graduates enjoyed a fantastic day at Wembley and it was an extremely proud moment for each and every one of them, plus myself and all the staff from TVU, to see their hard work rewarded.” One student who took part in the course in 2007 said: “The course is one of the best qualifications I have ever taken part in.
