NWG - Building Effective Organisations 16/6/2006

Date: Friday 16 June 2006
Venue: The Grafton Hotel, 130 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 5AY
Presentation: 9.30am - 3:30pm

This day long workshop led by Professor Michael West highlighted how effective team working can improve patient health outcomes. At a time when the NHS faces fresh challenges in workforce planning and is looking for new flexibility and productivity, organisations need to take every advantage from effective team working. This workshop offered an ideal opportunity to engage directly with the UK’s foremost authority on team based organisations.

By the end of the day, the aim was for all attendees to have:

  • formulated actions plans to create more energy and resilience in their organisation
  • a clear description of their own leadership role in bringing about change within the NHS
  • an understanding of recent research findings relating to HRM practices and patient care outcomes.
