Masterclass - Delivering the workforce of tomorrow: medical engagement in workforce development

Workforce Projects Team, in conjunction with the British Association of Medical Managers, held a masterclass event on the 19th March 2009 in central London. 'Delivering the workforce of tomorrow: medical engagement in workforce development' to explore the role of medical staff in the planning and development of the workforce needed to deliver future services.

The masterclass explored a number of key questions, in particular focusing on an overview of workforce development systems, the current level of medical involvement, identifying barriers to engagement, and suggestions for improvements to systems and approaches to workforce development. Speakers provided a range of perspectives from those giving a national overview in this area to successful local examples of medical involvement in workforce development.
