The aim of this workshop is to help you master the acute benchmarking database and apply it to your acute trust’s workforce planning and development strategy.

As a result of the success of the PCT WP&D database a similar resource has been created for hospital workforce planners. This database consists of 142 WP&D variables. The aim of this workshop is to help you master the acute benchmarking database and apply it to your acute trust’s workforce planning and development strategy.

The objectives are to:

• Launch the Acute benchmarking database
• Generate a health needs assessment, performance and staffing profile for your acute trust
• Benchmark your acute trust against in the same Office for National Statistics (ONS) socio-economic band
• Recommend an appropriate staff number and mix for your acute care workforce
• Explore participants’ local workforce planning and development initiatives.
