Maternity Matters Workforce Capability Development Programme
Tasked by the Department of Health with developing a range of resources to help plan the maternity workforce we are planning a series of regional workforce development workshops; a workforce development resource pack and an interactive e-learning CD. All are aimed at a mixed audience involved in the delivery of Maternity Matters including clinicians, heads of midwifery and service management staff, HR and workforce planning representatives.

Help with planning the public health workforce
We designed the Public Health Workforce Development Resource Pack to be used by all staff involved in planning and developing the workforce needed to deliver services to meet the public health agenda. It has been written to meet the needs of not just workforce planners but all those providing public health services which will include HR, clinical, non clinical and service leads in primary care, secondary care and local authority sectors.

New community area launched
Over the past couple of weeks we've launched a new community area where you can exchange ideas and engage in debate about the very latest issues in two areas of great interest: maternity and public health, in addition to our Hospital at Night and urgent and emergency care forums. Recent topics up for discussion include "does anyone use Birth rate+ alongside/together with a traditional workforce model?" And "how do you take H@N into evening and weekends?"
Join the debates>>>
Healthcare People Management Association conference
The Workforce Projects Team has a stand at the HPMA conference on 7th and 8th June 2007 at the Oval Centre in London. You'll be able to pick up a range of our resources and tools. Come and see us on stand 13.
Visit the HPMA website for further information on the event>>>
Take the healthcare workforce portal survey
We've developed a short survey to evaluate the progress of the healthcare workforce web portal, its content, navigation and general look and feel. This survey is part of a launch of a new portal think tank to improve our service for you. If you would like to be involved in this exciting new group, please email workforceprojectsteam@skillsforhealth.org.uk.

Case Studies
We hope you find the healthcare workforce portal and the resources it contains useful and relevant. Which of the resources have you used? How have you used them? Has life in your team or department changed for the better because of using our resources? If it has, please let us know more by completing a case study outline. We want to share your experiences online with everyone else who looks at the portal.
