Resources coming soon
Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team is pleased to announce a number of new resources available on the healthcare workforce portal over the coming months. We'll be adding to our series of hot topic briefing papers with publications about estates and administration workforce, together with a guide to maximising staff engagement. Two more resource packs - about workforce development within the learning disabilities and public health arenas - are also due to roll off the production line in May 2007.

Urgent and emergency care on the healthcare workforce portal
The healthcare workforce portal has a new urgent and emergency care area in which you'll find resources, events and other items of interest. This sector of the workforce is one we have been engaging with recently - providing advice and support for workforce planners delivering their five year plans.

Update to the MMC Workforce Development Resource Pack
Our MMC Workforce Development Resource Pack has been updated and reissued. The new version of the pack includes an updated section on the changes to specialty training (section 2) and additional case studies and examples of best practice in section 5. You can download the complete pack - or single sections if you already have a pack - from the portal.
We have a small number of copies of the pack printed on high quality paper and bound for easy reference and updating. We will issue these on a first come first served basis - you can request copies via the portal.

Take the healthcare workforce portal survey
We've developed a short survey to evaluate the progress of the healthcare workforce web portal, its content, navigation and general look and feel. This survey is part of a launch of a new portal think tank to improve our service for you. If you would like to be involved in this exciting new group, please email workforceprojectsteam@skillsforhealth.org.uk.

Case Studies
We hope you find the healthcare workforce portal and the resources it contains useful and relevant. Which of the resources have you used? How have you used them? Has life in your team or department changed for the better because of using our resources? If it has, please let us know more by completing a case study outline. We want to share your experiences online with everyone else who looks at the portal.
