Capability and Capacity
To deliver and achieve the vision described in ’A High Quality Workforce: NHS Next Stage Review (NSR)’ by Lord Darzi, organisations will need to ensure that they have a workforce that is flexible, affordable and sustainable.
A key focus of the NSR was that service planning should be based on pathways of care. With effective workforce planning across the healthcare sector pivotal to the achievement of this focus, the development of workforce planning skills must be seen as a priority.
In order to support organisations develop capability and capacity in workforce planning skills, Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team (WPT) has designed a selection of development menus to accommodate the needs of people from different career paths and roles that input into the workforce planning process. These menus provide a selection of resources and programmes designed and developed by WPT, together with links to useful programmes and resources.
This approach will allow individuals to select the educational resources and supporting tools that will suit them and allow a programme to be developed that supports workforce planning at all levels giving a range of core skills and competences.
The Workforce Planning Development Menus include an increased range of programmes and resources to support developments in workforce planning following the NHS Next Stage Review. Download the resource here >>>
