Building on the successful delivery across the NHS of the one day 'Introduction to Workforce Planning' workshop Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team have developed the 'Train the Trainer' programme. Designed to enable both workforce planners and trainers within healthcare organisations to deliver a one day workshop locally, the programme aims to increase the capability and capacity for workforce planning across the healthcare sector.
Based around a detailed resource pack, the programme provides much of the information and resources needed to deliver an effective Introduction to Workforce Planning workshop, including presentation slides, suggested formats, guidance and advice on delivery and more. The programme launched in January 2009 with resource packs distributed to all NHS organisations in England (you can also access electronic copies of all the resources below).
Train the Trainer course
Through a variety of interactive learning and practical exercises these courses provide delegates with hands on support and guidance in how to understand and deliver the material, how to localise the content, and discussions on avoiding the potential pitfalls involved with delivering these sessions. Three courses have been developed in 2009 with another scheduled in October 2009, we expect to have further courses in 2010.
