Pilot sites

Royal liverpool The Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust
Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust (RLBUHT) successfully piloted Hospital at Night (HaN). The second phase of the pilot involved whole team working to promote best practice and achieve 2009 compliance.

Within the Trust HaN is acknowledged to have improved the care to patients whilst improving the working lives of staff.

The Pilot ended in September 2008.

Working Time Directive deadline fast approaching
There are six months to go until August 2009.
Are you looking for a practical approach to reaching compliance? Do you want to hear from others who are already compliant and to learn from their experiences?

Rota Design workshops
Ensuring that rotas for doctors in training are WTD 2009 compliant can prove difficult for any trust.

To aid this process, Workforce Projects Team has commissioned four workshops across England focusing on tools, techniques and resources available to assist trusts address issues of non compliant working patterns. The workshops are being held in January and February 2009. They aim to equip those working within trusts who have responsibility for supporting the process of developing WTD 2009 compliant rotas.

Due to popular demand we are holding an additional workshop in London on 24th February 2009

Taking care 247 Taking Care 24/7
One of the most successful WTD pilot sites, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is holding a one day event to discuss how it has achieved European Working Time Directive compliance for its doctors in training over 18 months early. Hear how restructuring a busy district general hospital's elective and emergency patient care contributed to this achievement.

Calling Time 13 Calling Time 13 - celebrating the success
Following the festive period, there is already plenty of activity planned in 2009 in the form of events and sharing of best practice. Calling Time 13 includes a list of WTD events, a collection of practical tools to assist you with your projects, along with overviews of some of the trusts which have already implemented/achieved full WTD 2009 compliance .
