Maternity Matters

National 18 weeks workforce support programme
18 weeks NWP is a key NHS partner providing a programme of support to assist 18 weeks workforce planning in trusts and SHAs. This programme will support health communities by working together to assist organisations meet the 18 week workforce challenges with the provision of a variety of tools, techniques and resources. Stuart Taylor and Bryan Kessie, the project managers for NWP's input, will be in touch with 18 weeks leads at all SHAs during August to update them on forthcoming developments to get involved in.

New resource - Estates Management Briefing Paper
estates The latest in NWP's series of briefing papers is now available for you to download and share with colleagues. The newest addition to the resource library is the Estates and Facilities Management Briefing Paper, which takes a snapshot view of the issues affecting that sector of the workforce.

Summer 2007 edition of Calling Time out now
calling time The new Summer 2007 edition of Calling Time, the Working Time Directive magazine, is packed with reports from the 2007 national conference and details about what IT tools are available to help support WTD compliance. Issue 7 will be published at the end of September 2007 and in that issue we'll be focusing on organisations achieving early compliance - who they are and how have they achieved it.

18 Week Wait workforce development workshops - September onwards (England)
workshop image NWP is running a series of workshops - one in each of the 10 English SHA regions - covering the progress to date on 18 weeks, promoting tools and techniques available from key stakeholders and highlighting best practice nationally and within each SHA. The workshops will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual SHA and reflect their state of readiness. Register now for North West SHA (18th September, Manchester), North East SHA (17th October, Newcastle), Yorkshire and The Humber SHA (1st November, Leeds) and West Midlands SHA (22nd November, Birmingham).
