Train the trainer workshops coming soon

train the trainer Healthcare staff from across the UK continue to give their thumbs up to the innovative Train the Trainer programme created by Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team (WPT).

Workshops have been described as 'enjoyable', 'interactive' and 'very supportive', so WPT have announced further dates for workforce planners and trainers to put in their diaries.

Free Train the Trainer workshops will take place on 22nd and 23rd of June and 1st and 2nd of October. Workshops include a variety of interactive learning and practical exercises, provides delegates with hands on support and guidance in how to understand, deliver, and localise the content, and signposts potential pitfalls and methods of avoiding them.

Successful LTC conference

WPT is leading the way in producing a range of resources to fully support integrated workforce planning in long term conditions.

These resources, together with a conference DVD highlighting them were showcased at the highly successful Managing Long Term Conditions conference in Harrogate on 7th April. WPT led the work stream 'creating a workforce to support long term conditions' delivering several presentations throughout the day and exhibiting resources in the main conference hall.

Keep an eye on the long term conditions section of the healthcare workforce portal to discover the latest supporting news, presentations and resources, together with further workforce planning information and tools.

Countdown continues to EWTD

ewtd WPT, supported by the BMA and NHS London will be highlighting practical solutions to European Working Time Directive (EWTD) 2009 compliance at a conference in London on 15th May.

Journalist and broadcaster John Humphrys will facilitate the debate.

Clinicians who have been involved in the delivery of the EWTD will be speaking, leading workshops and taking questions throughout the day. This includes keynote speaker Miss Wendy Reid, clinical advisor to NHS London and the Department of Health on the European Working Time Directive. Speakers from the British Medical Association (BMA) are Shreelata Datta, vice president of the Junior Doctors Committee and Keith Brent, BMA Consultants Committee. Other experts presenting on the day include Bram Jacobs, president, Dutch Junior Doctors Society for a European perspective.
